HRP SU26-16: Research Opportunity with Dr. Xiaoyan Guo
Opens Jan 7 2026 09:00 AM (EST)
Deadline Feb 16 2026 11:59 PM (EST)
Description

This Health Research Program opportunity is with Dr. Xiaoyan Guo, Department of Department of genetics and genome sciences.

Project Description: Our lab focus on elucidating organelle quality control mechanisms. The accumulation of dysfunctional mitochondria is closely linked to various diseases, including neurodegenerative disorders. Our research focuses on uncovering the molecular and cellular mechanisms that maintain mitochondrial health. Using CRISPR-based genetic screening, we have identified candidate genes involved in this process. This summer project offers students an exciting opportunity to investigate these genes and explore their roles in regulating mitochondrial health.
