Naval Science & Technology Student Development Projects
Opens Sep 28 2026 12:00 AM (EDT)
Deadline Nov 30 2026 11:59 PM (EST)
Description

This opportunity supports student-driven projects that build capacity, knowledge, experience, and skills relevant to the Navy, shipbuilding, or the broader naval workforce. Projects connected to the submarine industrial base are especially encouraged because submarine design and construction are central to the regional economy and workforce needs of Southern New England.

The call is intentionally broad. Projects may be technical, entrepreneurial, educational, or organizational. Applicants do not need prior naval industry experience, and students from all majors and departments are encouraged to apply. Successful proposals will present a compelling idea, a realistic plan, and a clear explanation of the skills students will develop. This is NOT meant for any controlled research associated with existing NIUVT projects.

For complete program details, eligibility requirements, proposal guidelines, and evaluation criteria, please review the program website and the call for proposals.
